What’s the difference between a scissor lift and a boom lift?
A scissor lift moves straight up, is more stable, and is used for work directly above its base. A boom lift has an articulating arm that reaches sideways and up, more versatile but more sensitive to wind and uneven terrain.
Does a scissor lift certificate qualify someone to operate a boom lift?
No. They’re different pieces of equipment with different risks and procedures, and each requires its own certification.
